About the Department

The Department of Public Administration in Grenada is primarily responsible for the development and implementation of public sector reforms. We work to improve how government operates, implement public policies, and manage public programs.

Through performance management, training, and strategic planning, we ensure that public officers deliver excellent service with every public sector engagement.

Job Description Development

Drafting and approval of job descriptions that highlight expected roles, responsibilities, and qualifications for designations within the Public Service.

Training & Development

Comprehensive training for Public Officers in service-oriented areas to ensure excellent service delivery with every public sector engagement.

HR Network Development

Platform for HR practitioners to connect, collaborate, share best practices, and discuss shared challenges and opportunities across government.

Policy Implementation

Development and implementation of public policies aligned with organizational and national strategic goals to improve public service delivery.

Recent Initiatives

Transforming public service through innovative programs and reforms

New Appraisal System

A comprehensive appraisal system with reward incentives to motivate workers and deliver the best possible service to the public.

Staff Regularization

Comprehensive staff regularization efforts currently underway, with completion expected within the first quarter of 2026.

Pension Plan Initiative

A new pension plan for unestablished workers has been introduced, ensuring financial security for all public service employees.

HR Officers' Network

The re-establishment and launch of the Human Resource Officers' Network provides a platform for HR practitioners within the Public Service of Grenada to connect and collaborate, share best practices, and discuss shared challenges and opportunities. This initiative is led by the Department of Public Administration and the Public Service Commission, in consultation with HR departments across government agencies.
